So I have been couponing for about a year now and can I just say, HALLELUJAH for being introduced to it! It has given our grocery budget a huge break, it has allowed us to live off of very little, food $$ wise each month, it has allowed us to help others through donations and at the same time, allowed us to teach our kids lessons about giving to others and teaching them about families in need!
Since I have started, one year ago, this is what I have NOT bought or needed because of our stockpile:
toilet paper
paper towels
laundry detergent
jelly
peanut butter
tampons
pads
lip balm
heat wraps
bengay type cream
advil
ibuprofen
cold medicine
cough medicine
kid tylenol and ibuprofen
cough drops
all natural sleep aids
kleenex
baby wash
baby lotion
wipes
hand soap
dish soap
lysol wipes
toilet cleaner
magic erasers
m&m's
salad dressing
deoderant
toothpaste
razors
razor blades
special occasion cards
vegetable oil
macaroni and cheese
and the list could go on and on and on...you get the picture!
Honestly, most of this stuff was scored at WAGS and CVS last black friday! That was by far the most productive and gratifying black friday I have ever participated in! It wasn't about getting ridiculous items that one 'thinks' you need for your family, for us, it was about me stocking up on things we would actually use and would need, all for RIDICULOUS prices! I can't wait for this year ;)
All of this is to say....everyone, yes you, should be couponing! It is easy, doesn't take much time, is totally worth every second spent on it and can help not only your budget but another person who is need of just the basic items that we might take for granted!
**HAPPY COUPONING**
