Anyways, he has no school spirit. Now, I have also known this for quite some time. This is not good for him, myself and this lovely town that we live in that THRIVES on school spirit, especially in the fall. I have enough school spirit for the Auburn Tigers for the 4 of us, but I need some sidekicks in my ridiculous song screaming renditions at games, someone to match my ridiculousness in dress on game days, someone who will scream, 'WAR EAGLE,' to other fans as we pass by them on game day and any other day of the week for that matter!
I have been hoping and praying and thinking that once we got to Auburn and he was around all the school spirit and pride that people have for this school and their team, that it would rub off on him...
Well folks, I am happy to admit, it has! HE HAS SCHOOL SPIRIT, HE HAS SCHOOL SPIRIT and he has a hard time denying it when I ask him about it! This is how it happened...
One day, I got him from his late afternoon lab and we were driving through downtown and it was around dinner time and everyone was walking around on the main school lawn, waving pom poms, wearing AU shirts and just well, being themselves and he says, 'You know, it is truly amazing how much pride everyone takes in their Auburn Tigers!' *If only you could have seen the look on my face, my jaw was open, I was
I have a sidekick, we will look ridiculous on game day, have tattoos on our faces-bright orange shirts on-pom poms a shaking-will scream 'WAR EAGLE' at passerbys-chant the fight song with pride-scream at our tigers to score another touchdown and so on and so forth!!
And the most important thing of all of this (aside from him now having and growing some school spirit within his smart self), is that he is not missing the school spirit gene which means that our children are not possibly missing this gene and they will in turn have school spirit!!! I mean, in all honesty, they have no choice in the matter, seeing as how they will be here for at least 8 years and their mother will make them look super cute, ridiculous and teach them all the chants and songs for game days! However, I now feel very at peace knowing that all things are possible, HAHAHA!!
I am now one happy mother, wife and Auburn Tiger fan!! So with that, The Adams Family says (from all 4 of us ;)...
WAR EAGLE, HEY!
