Life lessons that apparently some did not learn!

So I know it has been a while since I posted about the craziness from my brother's wedding! Well lets just say that as soon as I think the craziness and mind blowing aspect of it all has come and gone, there is more!

Kristi (my cousin who was assaulted), finally heard from the DA that is taking on her case and informed her what has happened, what is going on, what is going to be done, trial information etc. 

Here is the latest on this whole ordeal:

The witnesses: myself, alex, lauren, tyler, Kathy and Kristi, of course, will all be required to be in court on 8/31 for the trial. We are all going to have to testify about what we saw and what happened.

We have been told not to speak to anyone other than the DA, naturally, and that if we are contacted by the other side to not answer, not tell them anything so on and so on.

As of right now, Stacie is being charged with 4th, possibly 3rd degree assault. She is also being charged with resisting arrest and apparently she tried to assault the arresting officer. WOW! I mean what in your mind makes you think that assaulting anyone is okay, let alone a police officer? He had 2 other police officers with him, they will make great, credible witnesses! Roy and Stacie are not being cooperative with anyone, shocking!

Now here is where it gets interesting, the story that Roy and Stacie are telling is that Kristi assaulted Stacie and lunged at her and attacked her. That Stacie and I were having a conversation (I guess if you are the one doing the screaming, yelling and grabbing of another person, it is now considered a 'conversation'?) and that Kristi came out of nowhere and attacked her. They are also saying the Kristi was incredibly drunk. Now I must interject and say that I have NEVER seen Kristi have a drink in my 28 years of life. All that girl drinks is Dr. Pepper, its a miracle she gets the water intake that she does, I have never seen her even drink water, lol. Kristi is not the cousin that drinks, never has been nor ever will be. She is the most level headed, down to earth, smartest cousin I have!

Roy and Stacie have hired the best Defense attorney in the state of WA, no surprise there, my dad likes to flaunt the money that he thinks he has, but really doesn't. They are planning on this thing going to court, which is what all of us want and Im sure the story that is told in court is going to be one for the books. Now, if they tell 'their side of the story' in court and stick with it, they are lying, under oath, very obviously so and can be charged with perjury, which is what will happen after this original trial gets done with. The perjury charge will be charged to both of them, not just her. They are telling the same lie and are both sticking to it.

The DA is also going to make it so that Roy and Stacie have to pay for all the witnesses travel expenses to come to the trial. In WA, that is something that the defense is actually liable for, which works in all of our favors. Not that $ or time off of work would stop any of us, we knew what we would be expected to do if this went to court and we were all okay with it. Just think, they will have to pay for 6 people to fly into town, be put up in a hotel, 6 rental cars, gas for all 6 cars, food for all the witnesses and this will probably be over a span of about a week. Talk about flaunting your $$ Roy, this is a great time for you to do so ;). We are all flying from different parts of the country: Alex from Fort Worth, Kristi from Austin, Kathy from New York, Lauren from Massachusetts, Tyler from North Dakota and Me from Alabama. Man, I don't even want to think about the plane tickets for all of those flights, with only about a 10 day notice....WOO, makes my stomach hurt at that bill.

I mean, I guess they think that they are invincible and that they can buy their way out of this one, but when you have 6 witnesses and 3 police officers telling the same story, Im thinking that money isn't going to help them in this one. Im not really sure what they think is going to happen or how they think Stacie is going to get out of this one. All of us witnesses are MORE than willing to testify and want to testify against her for what she did. Half of us have had to deal with her for longer than any of us would like to remember/should have had to and what she did is not acceptable, YOU CANNOT GO AROUND ATTACKING PEOPLE; that is not socially acceptable.

At this point, I just want justice served and for her to get what she deserves, whatever the judge decides upon.

I know that this is just the beginning of this insanity and that they are going to make a circus out of this thing. It is what they do, this is how they operate. They thrive on drama and stuff like this. This is fun for them. I wouldn't call this fun for us, however, it is what she has brought upon herself and we are more than willing to do what it takes to make sure she gets what she deserves.

Im sure there will be more, we haven't even gone to court yet! I can only imagine what that will be like or what is going to happen as the court date nears!

A lesson that we can all learn from this....Don't go around assaulting people! LOL
