I have the best husband in the world. No seriously, I really do have the best husband in the world and I am going to proceed to brag on him for a little while, cause he deserves it ;) Stephen has been staying at home with the kiddos since the first week of June and he has yet to complain, dread each day or wish he hadn't agreed to do it. He gets up each morning with a smile on his face, grabs the kiddos and begins their daily routine. He keeps them on a schedule, manages to keep them and himself happy, he takes them on outings, he keeps them busy, has also managed to pack up our house, goes to work some nights after watching them all day and most nights of the week, I come home to dinner cooked and ready to be eaten.
I mean, I can't even say that I would be capable of doing all of that without wanting to hurt someone in the process. Now, don't get me wrong, he does have his days where he is exhausted, ready for bedtime, excited to see me when I get home from work and is ready to have a beer or two to relax him ;) But 95% of the time, I come home to amazingness, no complaining, no bitching, no moaning; just an overview of the day with a smile on his face!
While he only has 6 more days of having to do this by himself, which I know he is ready for that last day to come and go, he really has been grateful for the chance to spend his days with them. He has seen a lot of firsts with Liam, gotten to watch Kinleigh grow, sees just how much I do for us, has gotten to help Kinleigh work on her #'s and letters and has been able to spend A LOT of time with them, time that he probably won't have come the fall when grad school starts.
When school starts, his days will be 8-5 Monday through Friday and then 3 of those days will actually be later so that he can teach labs until 9pm! So the past 8 weeks to him have been priceless and something that he will remember forever!
And for all that he has done for our family this summer has been truly awesome and he has been a sport, to say the least. I don't believe that men were made to stay at home with kiddos, they are not 'wired' for that, but I do believe in them helping what they make and he has done that better than I think I could. He's gonna make me look bad come this fall when its just Liam and I and we don't have to worry about packing up to move ;)
So babe, thanks for being so awesome and for giving our kids the memories of their daddy staying at home with them the craziest summer that they might ever have! Kinleigh has loved you being at home and Liam definitely shows his love for his daddy each time he sees you! You are one of a kind as a father and as a husband! Our children are beyond lucky to have you and I am even more lucky to have married you!
We love you and you are AMAZING!!!
