So this week was my birthday week (yes, they do exist in our household and they are always fabulous ;) and it was one of the most amazing weeks! I got some amazing gifts, well wishes, texts, phone calls, emails, facebook messages and news for me as a mommy......I GET TO BE A STAY AT HOME MOM when we move to Auburn! Stephen and I sat down, figured everything out, realized that we could pay off some bills that would free up more $$ and allow me to stay at home with Liam. Kinleigh is going to a pre-school program on Auburn's campus, that is designed for 3 & 4 year olds only. She will be in school from 8:30-3:30 each day. Me staying at home will do ALOT for us as a family. It will allow me to be around for the kiddos at anytime during the day and night while Stephen is busy studying, teaching labs, going to class, doing research, conducting experiments and anything else that goes along with his grad school program. This will keep him from having to worry about who is getting which kid at what time on what day. He can focus on school, excel at it, graduate, get a good job and enjoy us, all in about 6 years-LOL!! This will allow me to do what I have wanted to do since Kinleigh was born. I wanted to stay at home but for the past 3 years we haven't been able to afford it and now we can with some freed up money each month, an offer from my BFF to watch her daughter for 2 hours each afternoon and my Thirty One business that has taken off!!!
We are both very excited at me being at home. I know that there will be good days, bad days and days in between. I also know that Liam is our last little monkey, that he is growing way too fast, he needs his mommy, Kinleigh is about to be involved in everything under the sun and that she will be in kindergarten
So far, Kinleigh is registered for a tumbling class, swimming lessons and I am trying to decide on what type of dance I want her to do (any suggestions?). Liam is registered for a mommy and me tumbling class to help with his fine motor skills and an ISR swimming class (ISR is the concept that teaches young children to kick themselves on their backs to the edge of the pool/to safety, if they happen to fall into the pool and no-one is around-Im sure some of you have seen the youtube videos. If not, you should find them, it is an amazing thing). I have also discovered that there is a gym in Auburn that has a daycare to watch the kiddos while you go and workout!!! **Guess who can FINALLY get into a workout routine and get into shape?!!!!** Eeekkk, so excited about feeling better and working out(this is a mommy perk to staying at home ;)!!
Needless to say, this has been my dream as a mommy and I am so excited! I will get quality time with Kinleigh and Liam, the chance to be the one to take them to their activities, to take care of them when they are sick, to drop off and pick up Kinleigh at school, help Stephen with whatever he needs, take care of the housework (which I love doing, yes I know I am weird, but I LOVE cleaning), I finally get to be crafty and obsess over pinterest and everything I have 'liked', play with the kiddos, have mommy play dates, help some dear friends out, take the kiddos to see daddy on campus during his breaks and soooooo much more!
This is what its all about, being there for my loves and making grad school as stress free as possible for Stephen! Prayers for me as I transition from the working world to the hardest job on earth are greatly appreciated and welcome! I know it won't be easy at first for any of us and it will take some getting used to, but I am excited and counting down the days.......39!!! ;)
